Private Cities

Postby Netherrealmer » 14 May 2025, 11:58

Billionaires finds a way to escape taxes now. They go to 3rd world countries and build private cities there. They will live there to get tax exemption and lives luxuriously while residents of that country lives in Poverty. These private cities also run like their own government. So they can break rules. Also they have immunity from Trump's tariffs.

This one is Honduras

This one is in Kenya

People involved on this Private cities are friends of Trump

That's interesting, I had not heard of private cities. I can understand how they would be controversial, some see them as bringing investment to the local area and others see them as their country being for sale. I wonder how they will develop and how secure they will be in the future.

A lot of locals are against it since it doesn't really enriches them since the only opportunities are bottom tier jobs like maid, Janitor or construction workers.

Wealthy people will do everything they can to cling onto their money, and tax evasion is their favourite and oldest trick in the book.

True, they are not helping the locals in anyway, they are simply using them for their own personal benefits.

There is many elite neighbours where you can't even go or drive in US towns. They don't have to go outside to make elite closed area.

These rich people find ways to keep their wealth intact, even if it means exploiting others.

This reminds me of a C'hinese woman named Alice Guo who masqueraded as a natural born Philippine citizen. Her documents were all fake but she was able to put up many businesses and had bought a lot of properties. It is unthinkable for an alien to win the election that she was declared the Mayor of Bamban town in Tarlac province. Now that her cover was removed she is in jail waiting for a trial.

Somehow the concept of Private Cities reminds me of huge places run by Mega Villains in some Hit Bollywood movies of bygone eras.
Some movies had concept of young, old people as well as children working as slaves in areas run by the villain and his henchmen.
Yet for some concepts like BioTech, such cities could be good for humans in some ways as well.

That's the saddest thing I've heard today. Only those who come to do menial jobs or have very deep pockets can gain access to these places. Hideous.

I wonder who will be allowed entry into such private cities. What criteria will be used?
You know, the world needs both wealthy and poor people.

If you're not elite and rich, you can enter those private cities if you want to do domestic work. You know, be a chef, maid, errand boy, plumber, you know, the most low-class jobs you can think of.

I was not aware of private cities. And this is quite interesting to know. Wish they could do more to benefit locals and boost their economy.
However, I had read about rich people and celebrities owning private islands.
