I moved from my previous address in another state to my current location in 2009. Over the time since my arrival, I frequently used google maps to find my way around. It was pretty accurate most of the time, but I have stumbled over errors from time to time. I recall one particular search that was way off. Google had it pegged to the right street name, but it had located my destination at the far opposite end of the road, some 8 miles off.
I poked around and found a place to report the error and google did eventually correct it on the map. I now use the google GPS in my car and rarely spot any errors but they still happen.
In a very recent search, the instructions had me turn on what ended up to a back entrance making it very hard to find the place. I entered a back driveway to a nearby motel before weaving through their lot to my destination in front of the motel. If google had simply directed me to continue another 200 feet on the road I was already on, I would have spotted my destination from their own front entrance. Other than stupid little errors like that, it has been pretty reliable in all my recent travels.
