When we were children we have ability to regrow teeth before the permanent teeth grow but once the permanent teeth grows, Its over. We are not like rodents that keeps chewing because their teeth grows endlessly. I am disgusted of the concept of dentures, so this makes me happy because I can have complete set of teeth once I become old.



I will save money for this. No more fillers and root canals. Hope it becomes available to public soon.

America probably won't have scientific breakthroughs, especially in health science since RFK Jr. is in charge of Health and Human Services.

No we don't. Normally if you lose a baby tooth you just have a gap until the permanent tooth grows in, so if you lose a tooth as a young child you might just have no tooth there for 5 years or so. The permanent teeth are already in your skull waiting to come down through the gum once there is room for them. You don't just grow new ones from scratch.

This technology sounds great, and could help a lot of people.

Teeth are not bones. They look similar but they're made of different stuff - dentine, while bones are made mainly of collagen mixed with calcium and other minerals. Teeth are harder than bones, and covered in a layer of enamel. They can't heal themselves the way bones do if they are broken.

I hate dentures. I have seen many elderly around me use it and even they are not very happy with. Ability to grow teeth at old age would be a welcome step. We have to wait and see the trial results. Hopefully, not major side effects. Also, the cost to fit in the budget would be another concern.

What do you mean? The idea is that they will be teeth, the same as regular teeth. People already do get sick from having bad teeth (for example, I got an infection in my jaw from an impacted Wisdom tooth). There is no reason to think that this would be any different.

Yes, they will just be teeth, so you would need to brush and floss them the same as usual.

Still need to brush them and floss them to keep them healthy. So you won't need another treatment until you die. You know, once you have second chance with teeth, you will take care of that teeth.
