One key problem with creating energy from hydrogen concerns how to safely handle the waste water that is produced. The waste water byproduct deriving from the process of splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen atoms is unlike ordinary water and, if released into nature carelessly, it could thus pose a danger to both the environment and humans.
