Even in Inactive monarchies like Russia stop marrying royals.
George Mikhailovich the crowned Prince of Russia married an Italian Business woman.

Why are they marrying foreigners and commoners? The answer all European Monarchs are cousins. Queen Elizabeth II who married Prince Phillip of Greece are second cousins. Marrying cousins from different kingdoms use to be a norm in European Royals but they all got Hemophilia because of too much inbreeding. Marrying commoners will save them from deformed babies.

Thats why Even if Prince Charles was in love with his Cousin Camilla, he was forced to marry Diana because they want to stop inbreeding. Charles only got the blessing to marry Camilla when she is finally menopause. Marrying commoners will refresh their bloodline.

All Princesses in Europe are related to all Prince in Europe so they all marry commoners now. I think they will make cross Kingdom marriages again once the Hemophilia Blood is diluted.

Before they also exclusively marry white people but we had seen Harry Married a Biracial woman. a Danish Prince married a Chinese woman and a Liechtenstein Prince married a Black Latina.

I will not marry any cousin of mine even if cousin marriages is Norm in my country because it is encouraged by Islam. I had seen relatives with deformities because of it.

I guess with your reasons, there are new standards in society. I guess in Europe married cousine is not acceptable by society or Catholic church. Also now they meet much more regular people. Before kings and princess didn't hangout with regular people.

I have a feeling the royals have secret children they hide from the public. They stop inbreeding so there will be no more secret children to be born

I also noticed that royals are marrying common people. I thought it is not possible before. It seems that Fourth Indutrial Revolution had influenced them to be in this situation now.

I think they do not want to have the same fate as the Hapsburgs who got extinct because of too much incest.

I thought they simply chose love, but avoiding birth defects sounds good as well. :)

It makes sense, since there's no longer a need to marry royals off for political alliances since the world just doesn't really work that way any more. Also, these days they probably want to avoid any more inbreeding.

George Mikhailovich wasn't the crown prince. He could not inherit the throne because his parents were of unequal rank.

Ancient Japanese and Korean royals are inbreds too. Emperors have concubines, So the future emperor can marry a half sibling or a cousin but not as inbred since concubines are not royals. Many generation of emperors married their half sisters and cousins from concubines.

I am totally against inbreeding and it's good that people are going out and marrying different people from different gene pools.

This is a very interesting topic. I never really thought about the topic until now.

I kind-of used to, when I was younger, want the United States to be a Monarchy like England. I could never decide who I wanted to be the Queen or King though. How about you?

Yeah, something good to ponder about.

The so-called "blue blood" of the Royals will never remain pristine anymore. They will get mixed. Maybe the snobbishness would also go away among the offspring from this unions

I never considered the English royalty to be snobby.

Yeah, they mingle with the common folks maintaining their boundary. They shedded the snobbishness. The royals from other countries European nations are supposed to follow suit.

Nope, Kate, Diana and Megan's parents and siblings are not considered royalty. Since they are all commoners.

The hegemony has been broken and they seem to be free to marry for love and not for some royalty sake where you might end up not enjoying the marriage.

That practice used to put those Royal kids in a box and they have finally summoned courage to leave the box.

Quite well explained. There are old cultural practices which would take time to change.
I think marrying cousins was norm across many cultures earlier.
The ill effects have perhaps only recently been studied.

Maybe they are just recognizing and aligning with the equality of humans for the first time.
