I have learned that my best intentions can sometimes be misunderstood.
I started posting congratulation notes for the successes of members back in October 2018, but this topic has been right here since 2013. My congratulation messages did not even show up until page 25. Members have been posting their own achievements long before I showed up.
There have been a few members who have posted their own successes in recent months, and it appears others have accused them of stealing my thunder in making their own announcements.
Hey, first things first. It is not “MY” Thunder.
The successes and thunder belong to the members who have achieved them. You are certainly welcome and encouraged to announce your own successes if you notice them as they happen and want to make your own announcements. In fact, you may very well know of some success beyond the achievements others may not even notice. Posting your own achievements shares encouragement to all other members who might want to emulate your success.
I am simply watching site activity and announcing congratulations to those who have reached milestone achievements when I see them happen … and even then, only if you did not announce it yourself beforehand. It is your thunder, not mine. So congratulations already! Well done.
