Thank you for your comment and like our video. Depression is a big issue in our societies but, unfortunately also underestimated. Hope this video contributes to people understand a little more about this disease.

I have been open about my "Agent Orange" exposure in Vietnam on this board.

What I have not been totally open about is the depression that also comes with the Agent Orange Exposure. Through treatment and medication, I have been able to basically keep it in check but it is ever present.

This morning is cloudy and rainy and cold and fighting the depression is tougher under these conditions and I have to recognize it first so that I don't suffer a relapse.

Staying busy and staying away from snacks is a couple of things I do to thwart off depression.

In my life, feeling sad is not feeling depressed. I feel sad for a friend who has passed away but depression is when I feel sad for myself and with-draw inward.

You have a good strategy to stay away from depression! Your testimony is also very important here because you can influence someone do try the same Thank you for your comment!

Let me clarify about the "Snack" comment.

Sugar is a big trigger that causes me all kinds of trouble. If I eat a candy bar, usually within 15 minutes I go into a depressed state from the sugar high then the down after digesting it.

Sweetner's like Apriva or Sweet and Low are okay. However, diet drinks are another big trigger that I stay away from.

Anything that spikes my blood sugar or raises my heart rate are basically off limits.

I am not overweight and not diabetic.

Free sugar from fruits are no problem for me.

Just clarifying my statement.
