Who is the best designed Saudi Arabian character

Postby Netherrealmer » 22 Dec 2023, 14:29

Saudi Arabia despite of being a conservative strict country have a large fighting game community. They have a large Street Fighter and Tekken scene. So Videogame companies recently decided to appeal to Saudi Arabians by making characters from this country.

Pullum Purna from Fighting Ex Layer

She is a Saudi Princess who travels around the world to find her missing father. Her fighting style is Belly dancing which is not a Martial Arts. I think the way she dress might be offensive to Saudis because she dress like an Arab Belly Dancer from Pre-Islamic era and Princess Jasmine from Aladdin.

Shaheen from Tekken-
He is a a Saudi Arabian soldier who wanted to avenge the death of his friend and also save his country because the villain wants to destroy all countries except Japan. His fighting style is Guntai-shiki kakutō-jutsu. Which is the fighting style of Japanese Army. He is designed after that Handsome Qatari man who got banned from entering Saudi for being too Handsome. LOL

Rashid of the Turbulent Wind,
(Street Fighter) He is a rebellious Saudi Prince who always escape from his strict Butler. He is cocky but kind. He loves to Vlog and have a happy go lucky attitude. He fell in love with a Christian woman but she didn't love her back because of religious differences. When she got kidnapped by the Villain, he tried to save her but its too late as she died. Before she died she sent him a text message that she love him. His fighting style is Parkour making him an acrobatic fighter. A Saudi Arabian artist designed him.

Najd (King of Fighters) Najd is a Saudi Arabian College girl at day but a Superhero at night. She discovers she have Umbrakinesis or ability to manipulate Shadows and turn her shadows into Solid objects. She wears Abaya and Hijab which makes her a more accurate depiction of Saudi girls than Pullum.

A teenage girl from Saudi Arabia designed her. The Prince of Saudi owns SNK so he made a character designing conterst in Saudi and she wins.

I personally find Rashid of the Turbulent Wind to be the most interesting and well-designed Saudi Arabian character. Not only does he break stereotypes of strict and conservative Saudi Arabian men, but he also has a relatable and human personality. His Parkour fighting style and use of social media also add depth to his character and make him stand out compared to other characters.

I agree his design reflects a modern and urban aesthetic blended with traditional Saudi attire.

Rashid's attire incorporates elements such as a hooded robe, loose pants, and intricate patterns, showcasing a mix of cultural heritage and contemporary fashion

They know how to add charm to the character by making their skin tone little dark but shiny and add a spark to their eyes and make their organs sharp so I like the princess

I do not recognize any of these video game characters but I understand why video game companies are trying to attract specific demographics. However, if they use women characters with revealing clothes, maybe the Muslims wouldn't like them.

I think I like the king of fighters character more. The design looks mysterious and dope at the same time.

How Pullum Purna looks in original cartoons for Saudi market? Not pirate community than on national tv station.

Yes, I agree the KOF is known for its multiple list of characters, each with a unique and distinct design, personality, and fighting style.
