Why did they have to replace though? Can't they simply add more slots to the game?

Fatal Fury will be lit, metaphorically.
The fame of Ronaldo will rub into this fighting game. I guess the franchise running it will reap big.

Alright, alright, Cristiano Ronaldo in a fighting game... Let's just say the idea lands with a bit of a thud, doesn't it?

I mean, picture it: instead of a graceful bicycle kick, he's doing... what? A perfectly sculpted uppercut? Is his special move going to be an unstoppable free-kick projectile? And the taunts? Oh boy, the taunts would probably involve flexing and maybe a dramatic hair flip after every victory.

Look, the man's a phenomenal athlete, no doubt. But fighting games are usually about gritty combat, maybe some mystical powers, or over-the-top martial arts. Where does a football legend really fit into that?

They should have done more to create a better resemblance of Ronaldo. Or is it an issue with copyright that stopped them. Fans might not feel the vibes because the resemblance is too far.

No he sold his likeness, They just try to make him look Anime but Salvatore Gannacci transitions to anime better. I think making him young because the game is set in 2005 is what make him look not accurate. Since he have wrinkles and facial hair now.
