Personally, I like getting to know others as well as simply interacting with people I normally wouldn't. Most of us have social media but that doesn't mean we talk to all of our "friends" or "followers". With a forum site, you're able to interact, have different discussions, meet new people, and join a community. I like FC because there are quite a few areas to post in, so everyone has somewhere to post with their interests. Some sites don't offer that and limit you.

Yes I agree people talk more on forums. Social media people usually just post something, reply to a few comments and leave.

Yes I agree I sharpen my writing skills on forums, and paid to post sites.
Even though I used to spend way to much time on them in the past.
