I run Windows XP on a desktop that is close to 6 years old. And it is not slow. On occasion if to many browsers are open those crash but overall my PC actually works well for its age. I do take care of it though. Even when I know there is no virus I run a virus scan monthly and disc defrag monthly. I also do not download stupid things like "Toolbars" since they can really slow down your browser. On occasion I also do Disc cleanup. And every couple of months I delete anything no longer needed on the PC. I also hardly download anything to which could also be helping it stay okay for the time being.

Good information my friend about the Windows xp.

Hi friend
My new laptop is having Windows 8.1 version and since it is updated i think i may not have any problem. But my desktop pc is windows xp but it is working ok but a bit slow. I think i have to remove unused files and defrag and clean up the disk.

ALL Windows OS systems bellow Vista have been unable to get updates since 2013-2014 (depending on your country).
The only systems that still work are the Windows 2000, only for the reason major companies still got tons of those for an odd reason x'D

Yeah in my mind that is the only way to keep the PC going. I know it is more vulnerable then my Windows 8.1 laptop but I am not worried. I only go on certain websites on this computer and don't download much. My plan is to run this desktop until it becomes unbearable then I am going to buy a gaming desktop and turn the laptop into the work computer. I already got tons of files saved the disc and transferred such a long process though.

They stopped supporting Windows XP but many of us are still using it just like me and here in my computer shop. because for me Windows XP can be use by anyone even a beginner can operate this operating system. Also if you're a Windows 7 or Windows 8 user you will see the difference especially on Compatibility part. Example when playing games, there's some game that aren't compatible with Windows 7 that working on Windows XP great. SO yeah for me Windows XP still the best of them all

[quote="stephengeorge"]According to the Windows Company, they have stopped giving Windows XP Support. I am using Windows 8 and its cool, you can upgrade your OS too[/quot

My new laptop which was delivered by Flipkart 4 days before is windows 8.1 and I think it should be the upgraded version because it is brand new

I agree Windows 8 and 8.1 is nice, but some people prefer Window's 7 because they are more familiar with it and some other's dislike Microsoft's Metro Start Screen instead of Start Menu. Window's to mixes them both so it will be easier for people to move on.

Support for Windows XP over, if you want to change OS, switch to Linux because it is much more fluid and beautiful, and you have many distros. You have very beautiful for example distros "Elementary's" fluid distros such as "Lubuntu", "kubuntu", xubuntu" distros doings for safety testing (hacker) such as" linux kali "," backtrack", "backbox "and many more distros.
The main ones are debian and ubuntu!

The MS support expired but the antiviruses and other apps will be updated so you don´t have to be scared that much. Even tho you should install at least Win 7 or 8
