Unsafe act we practice

Postby Uniquebest » 12 Aug 2017, 12:29

There are certain unsafe practices that many of us often indulge in while making use of our tech gadgets that we should stop now;
1. Placing and making use of laptop on a bed
some of us are also guilty of this; we make use of our laptop while placing it on bed. This time around for the safety of your gadget, you should avoid this act totally.
our bed can easily block the vent of your laptop causing it to overheat and unlike when you place it on flat plane surface.

2.Making use of our laptop directly on our lap close to our manhood/womanhood
In as much as it is regarded as laptop, it doesn’t necessary mean that you should be using it on your lap in the manner that can endanger your health'
Always avoid placing laptops directly without shield on your lap and more so keeping it very close to your manhood.
The heat generated by your laptop on prolong usage can damage your manhood when you place it directly on your lap, better still for convenience, you can easily place your laptop on a desk and if you must place it on your lap then you should be mindful of the proximity to your manhood/womanhood.

3.Plugging a phone and using the phone at the same time to be making/receiving call
Many of us are also guilty of this particular act, and we should desist from it completely
the precautionary measure here is that when you plug your phone and want to use it to make/receive call, you should unplug the phone completely before using and then after making/receiving your calls you can then plug it back and leave it to charge.

4. Putting your phone on loudspeaker while making use of it very close to your ear in making/receiving calls
If you must make use of your phone on loudspeaker then you should avoid placing it very close to your ear.
Sometimes there could be a surge in sound while making use of your phone on loudspeaker and the sound could come out loud enough to cause deafness.

5.Using of Power Banks while plugged into an AC outlet
it is totally unsafe to plug a power bank and still be using the power bank at the same time.

Finally safety measures are important things you should always have at the back of your mind and not even only when making use of your tech gadgets but also in all areas of life.

Add yours to educate the public :) :)

Thanks for these wonderful articles, it rather unfortunate that most of us are aware of some of the factors you mentioned but laziness and procrastination won't make us deviate from it

Great points and very true. At times I use my laptop placing on my lap despite knowing about the problem. I should change this habit. Everybody should read these points because it is a reminder of stressing to be cautious while using the gadgets. We should be more concerned about our health than the gadgets. Thanks for the wonderful tips :)

Sometimes I lay my MP3 player upon a pile of clothing while it's charging. It's not 100% safe sure but I don't think it's 100% surely fatal either. Anyways, most of these fire or explosion issues usually happen with phones over-heating. Not music players.

I am guilty as charged on number 3. I actually know it's not safe but I still keep on doing it. I can't help it because of light issues.

Interesting, I'm guilty of most of them, even now I'm typing this on my bed. I smiled when I saw your write up. Thanks for letting us know, so we can take corrections.

One must really avoid this practices. I remember a news before where the phone explode while someone is having a call with his phone plugged. I have read some of the tips before but using that laptop on bed is new to me. Thank you for sharing now that I am aware I will stop using my laptop on bed.

I know bed is not the best surface for laptops, there's also the risk of getting dust inside the vents and that's another reason for overheating. I often have no available desk or table, so all I can do is to switch off my laptop and let it rest, when I feel it's getting hot. This good gadget of mine has vents on the side, so actually it hardly ever warms up.

I felt guilty reading this post because I am basically doing everything listed except the topic on power bank because I do not use one. Right now I am doing my best to avoid working inside my bed room. I read somewhere having electronic gadgets inside the bed room would not help you get a restful sleep.

I agree we must unsafe act that we practice ignorantly. This is the reason that most of the electric items get out of order in no time. Most of us do not read safety instructions.
