What should I look for when buying a gaming monitor?

Postby kat82 » 02 Aug 2025, 08:51

Besides the CPU, what are things one can look into when making a choice of the best gaming monitor?

I'm not even using a PC monitor, I'm using a television as my monitor because it can be used as a monitor.

Your question is very important for computer game lovers! When choosing a gaming monitor, first check the refresh rate. It should be at least 120Hz for smooth gameplay.

Also consider the response time, which should be less than 5 milliseconds to avoid image lag. **Resolution** is also important; 1080p is common, but 4K brings even better quality.

Don't forget the size and panel type such as IPS or OLED for better colors. If you pay attention to these, you will find a monitor that gives you an exceptional experience!

My dream is to use a projector instead of a monitor but I found out projectors only last 3 years

You simply switch cables or source. I have also seen many people use a monitor for both TV and PC

I've also seen people use the same monitor for both their TV and computer, especially if they have a small space or budget. It makes life easier and more efficient without sacrificing image quality.

The key is to know your needs and use the devices creatively. Keep being creative and use technology in a way that works for you. You're doing great!

I understand. Truth is that combining devices like that saves both money and space. It’s all about being resourceful—using what you have in the smartest way possible makes technology truly work for you.
