Postby ptrikha21 » 06 Jul 2025, 12:46

Meta Platforms has announced a big overhaul of its AI strategy by launching a new division
that would build AI SuperIntelligence that would perform tasks almost as good as or better than humans.
This initiative has been named as "Superintelligence Labs", under a dedicated division
"Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL)".
Some of the tasks would be :

=>Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT alternatives.
=> AI research, product development and a next-generation lab for future AI models.
For this initiative, Meta has recruited 11 new AI experts from:
OpenAI, Anthropic and Google DeepMind; with names like Jack Rae, Pei Sun, Shengjia Zhao, and Joel Pobar.

Now, how would this go further remains to be seen. As of now, this intensifies the battles
in the Hot AI arena.

Ai is really gonna replace us. Look at this AI call center agent being able to handle a call from a parrot.

So META has paid more than what they have been earning?

I read some IT newsletter articles that said Meta was offering $100 Million to top AI talent from Open AI to join them.

Meta is clearly investing heavily in this goal. While the long-term impact remains to be seen, this move undoubtedly intensifies the competition in the AI sector.

Yes, Anthropic(Claude.ai), Perplexity, Meta, OpenAI(ChatGPT) and Google Gemini and a few more are in hot competition.
In paid versions too, if one brings out a feature, others follow or try to follow soon.

At times, it makes me wonder how to keep pace with these AI developments?

The article too talks even about Mark Zuckerberg calling top executives hired from other companies to a Dinner.
Rival companies have been protesting at this move a bit.

May be from its special funds? And they know that with such top talent, the returns would be many more!
Already the competition is fuming and angry with Meta !
