Fan error, Laptop failed to boot

Postby kat82 » 29 May 2025, 06:59

I really don't know what happened. But my home laptop today failed to boot showing a Fan error. When I tried to listen thoroughly, it looks like the Fan stopped moving. What should I do? Is it software related or I should take the machine to the mechanic?

Your laptop might be overheating, Either it needs repairs or it needs dust inside removed

But it can't complete turn on either. All it displays is fan error. I have called someone to come and check so we can see what is the issue.

You need to take it to a mechanic. Some of my friends have faced this issue.
In one case, the fan needed to be replaced.
In another case, the fan was repaired but repairs are less common now so we mostly see a replacement.

Check that the fan vents on the outside of the latptop are not being blocked or pushed up against anything. Sometimes laptops will shutdown if they cannot cool down because the vents are blocked.

Oh yes, the vents had been blocked. I blew up the vents using a dryer and it worked again. But this was brief, It again stopped showing the same error while booting up. What next?

SO this could be the time for replacement. Or may be a specialist could check & see if he can do something more.
