I have always believed that Chrome is the best browser, that's what the experts tell us, but recently I have been having some success with Firefox; it's quicker for me. Which browser do you think is best?

It blocks many safe sites as unsafe that it can be annoying. Also it has tendencies to corrupt downloads. Well its better than firefox and explorer at least.

Chrome is definitely a good browser. They have taken introduced tab based browsing which brought a revolution in the browsing landscape.Down the years, they went through numerous changes and updates some of which turned out beneficial and some didn't went well with consumers. The Chromium project which happens to be the engine behind the browser is open-source and this creates many possibilities to receive valuable improvements of it from all across the world.

I have to say I'm not a huge fan of Firefox at all. Like fergus1234, I find it also keeps blocking completely legitimate sites, claiming they're unsafe! It just seems to be very glitchy for me whenever I use it. I much prefer Safari or even Chrome as a second option.

I'm the opposite. I'm a Firefox fan. I got forced into using the Chrome. Now I use both browsers.

Generally, Chrome is the most popular and widely used browser. It has tons of features, add-ons, and extensions. However, all those features cause speed and performance to suffer. Not to mention the privacy issue because of all the trackers you get from different websites.

I still use Chrome on the websites that I frequently visit. But if I need a little more speed, I use a new browser called Vivaldi.

I haven't used Firefox for quite sometime, I am about to try it again.

It is good. I like it because it's fast. I think it's a good work browser.
I think the fast load times for pages is what people really like about it.

I must admit that I do like some of the extensions. But you are right in that they sometimes cause problems.

Firefox use to be the best when there is just Explorer and Netscape Navigator.

Considering writing an article about why Brave is so good. You sound like you have had a good experience.

Here are my proverbial two cents :
1)Technically, while Chrome is a product from Google, and supposedly one of the best engineering wise, Chrome uses Multi-Processing. So each Tab itself on Chrome (not a browser window) is a process by itself. That can make the system a bit slow if more tabs are opened. I have observed this especially in my office.
Yet, many people prefer Chrome due to syncs with their Google account.
2)Firefox instead is based on Multi Threading.
1 Process=Many threads.
So Firefox can be faster.

Yet I did read about certain vulnerabilities in Firefox, but those can be checked by having an updated firefox version.

However, if one needs to just open a few tabs, I do not think Chrome and Firefox would differ much.

Vivaldi - that is interesting. May be you can share a separate discussion about this browser?

Recently my Chrome extensions have started becoming DISABLED. No warning that it will happen. I just get a PopUp after the fact the extension was disabled. :?
