If the need for a worker is immediate then that would be a good direction. However, take note that not all outsourced worker have the expertise. I have experienced that myself when we hired several project managers where some were just programmers masquerading as systems analyst.

I guess it would depend on the line of work.

I'm a photographer and don't really like to outsource because it takes away from my work and my editing. A client hires me for my portfolio and outsourcing editing may effect that. I try to limit outsourcing as much as possible.

I think outsourcing is required when you want to serve larger number of clients and want to step away from the actual work. This is for business people and not for the people who just like to do solo or work solo.

It should be selected with a plan as it also involves cost and won't be a good idea to select any such company.

This is true. Outsource full time employees often cost more than the contracted one. So it all depends on how we see things.

I am not really against outsourcing workers but I value the loyalty of the worker when it is hired instead of being an outsource.

And now, there are more in the Philippines, I think. So outsourcing is important for a business or two. Aside from the low cost, there are lots of manpower outside.

That is very true! India had many outsourced call centers in the past and they all were doing very good! But after the change of policies by US Government the outsourcing has gone to much cheaper countries like Philippines from India!

I think right now, it is cheaper to outsource in India than in the Philippines. But both are competitive.

If I would be starting a business, I could probably outsource simple tasks and leave the major tasks to the experts.

Outsourcing is a tricky decision. Moving something from your location to somewhere else involved risk. Some risks are obvious while others are beneath the surface. The pros and cons have to be weighed. Usually is comes down to money.

Not everything can be properly managed by a business like an IT unit and then you need to pay bigger salaries to them but with outsourcing your expenses will be reduced.

The outsourcing is nothing new in any business! But it is the word which has become common because of modern corporate language people are using! In olden days we used to have petty contractors/ sub contractors who used to take contract of small jobs from the main Contractors taking the contracts. I knew few friends of mine who used to wind power supply transformers to the TV companies that existed in 1985 on wards in India.

I think we need to outsource the tasks which we are not much good with. And then consider only focusing on the tasks which we can do without much pain.

That helps in saving the time and in a way you are hiring experts for the other things you don't have experts of

That is the whole idea behind the outsourcing! Instead of having a new set up for a specialized job , it is always better to place order to the company which is already into it as the things would work cheaper for both the parties and results will also be good as the parent company is gett9ing product/service from an experienced party which is already in the business!

Saving money is the name of the game. There are some companies with record profits and deep pockets but still search for ways to save. Outsourcing is not new but has been utilized for years. Outsourced jobs are like a magic trick--here one day but gone the next. No matter what location.
