Oh I see. I didn't realize India had a lot of services under government control. In the USA an entrepreneur might see poor quality service supplied by the government as a business opportunity.
If there isn't too much "red tape and bureaucracy and government restriction" involved with setting up a business, they might just create a niche to sell those services. If the public wants those services and is willing to pay for them because of better quality, the business owner might go to Washington if necessary to get laws and rules changed so they provide the services. Socialism is sometimes needful but Capitalism can be a beautiful thing.

That's right, but in India vested interests would not let it happen. The present government tried it best during its last five years tenure (the elections are going on) but the entire opposition is trying its best to topple the government and the developments it did so far will be reversed to old ways of corruption.Most of the opposition parties here are families owned working in self interest or based on cast and greed rather than working for people. If the opposition wins, ....... oh that's scary.
