Same with apple. Pretty mediocre phone is being sold at price 1000$ USD. It's not even worth that in reality.

Here, people pay prisons to use prisoners. I really wonder how they benefit since they are not paid. Cheap labor is almost everywhere where prisons are located. No wonder.

If only they had stable economies and learn to stay and work in their own country. Indeed this form of cheap labour is almost like slavery.

It is not right to make them work without payment.
Prisoners are made to work as cheap labors in jails across the world but they are paid as daily wages. I have heard stories of prisoners having a meager saving from their earnings in jail which they have used to establish their life once they were freed.

I did not know that there were private prisons in the US. I thought private prisons only exist in the movies. If there are private prisons, I guess it is a good business.

Prisoners will have some money after their sentence is over. Also they can use that to buy food like ramen or potato chips because prison food is terrible.

Yes prisons are the sources of cheap labour. Here in India when a prisoner is sentenced to Rigorous imprisonment, he has to do hard, manual labour and hardly gets any remuneration.

This reminds me of the national penitentiary when I was young. It was built in the middle of mountains. The prisoners would quarry the mountains as their main chore. After 50 years, there was no more trace of the mountains.

I think law is a business of it's own. And it can be pretty difficult to survive in any other way. I guess we learn from our mistakes. Not all the time we can do things effectively.
