Cattywampus, likely came about between 1830 and 1840. It is derived from the prefix cata, meaning diagonally and likely wampus, which the site says is akin to the word wampish, meaning to flop about.

Anúbis

Anubis (or Ancient Greek: Ἄνουβις) or Anupo was as it was known by the Greek ancient Egyptian god of the dead and dying, guided and led the soul of the dead in the underworld, Anubis was always represented with a jackal's head, however the most conservative Egyptologists say there is no way of knowing with certainty the animal that represents it, it was always associated with mummification and the afterlife in Egyptian mythology, also associated as protector of the pyramids. In the Egyptian language, Anubis was known as Inpu (also spelled Anup, Anpu and Ienpw). The earliest mention of Anubis is in the Texts of the Pyramids of the Ancient Empire, where it is often associated with the burial of Pharaoh. At the time, Anubis was the most important god of the dead, but during the Middle Kingdom, Osiris. , became the primordial god of the dead, while Anubis had smaller functions such as the preparation of the body and embalming of the dead, and was the protector of the mummification process.
He assumes names related to his funeral role, such as the One on his mountain, which emphasizes his importance as protector of the dead and their tombs, and the title One who is in the place of the embalming, associating it with the process of mummification. Like many Egyptian deities, Anubis took various roles in various contexts, and no public procession in Egypt was performed without a representation of Anubis marching at its inception.
Anubis' wife is the goddess Anput, her feminine aspect, and her daughter is the goddess Kebechet.
The Egyptians believed that in the judgment of a dead man his heart was weighed on a scale and the Feather of Truth (which belonged to the consort of Toth, Maat, the goddess of truth). If the heart was heavier than the feather, the deceased was eaten by Ammit (a demon whose body was composed of hybrid parts of lion, hippopotamus and crocodile), but if it were lighter the person in question could have access to paradise or soul would return to the body. Anubis was the one who guided the souls of the dead.

Discombobulate– To confuse, Upset, Frustrate. An American word first used in 1825-1835. It's a fanciful alteration of discompose or discomfort.

Animal-The word "animal" is derived from the Latin anima, in the sense of vital breath, and entered the Portuguese language through the word animalis. Animalia is its plural. He biological definition of the word refers to all members of the Animalia kingdom, encompassing organisms as diverse as sponges, jellyfish, insects and humans. Colloquially, the term "animal" is often used to refer to all animals other than humans, and rarely to refer to animals not classified as Metazoa. The only animals that are not considered metazoans comprise the three phyla of uncertain systematic position, sometimes grouped in the sub-kingdom Agnotozoa (meaning "unknown animals"), in the Rhombozoa, Orthonectida and Placozoa phyla.
