Why Would You Buy a DVD-Player or DVDs? now that we've got it All On 'Streaming'?

Postby friendociate » 22 Jan 2023, 13:38

Clips like these (from the THOR: RAGNAROK-DVD) are good reasons to buy the DVDs
... or at least 'so that you have them to share for an audience as-good-as/better-than Film Is Now's :ugeek:

I would still like watching my favourite old movies through DVDs. I found it very cheaper compared to live streaming

DVDs and Blurays have alternate endings, deleted scenes and behind the scenes. Streaming services dont have that. Its also for doomsday prepper movie collectors who have this fear that internet might die.

I might die too, but I am not going to let that keep me from living each day I can to the fullest.

Maybe that's one of the things you worry about when you're living in 'the poverty that's there before you switch to abundance'

I imagine I'm living in Heaven sometimes ... I pay a little bit for Amazon Prime & cable & NETFLIX & Paramount+, and I get SO MUCH (movies & TV-shows & stand-up comedy specials etc.)!

A lot of it is partly due to the VIZIO TV I have ... gives me access to a lot of the FREE streaming services that are available (like PLEX & some of peacock)!

I know it sounds haughty when I say, 'I am living in abundance, and you are in poverty  '; but I'm often 'in poverty' too, and it comes up again when I'm looking through my Amazon Prime menu and it tells me that I COULD buy some Prime Video selections if I had a credit-card :(

The DVDs are based for people who love repeating and watching their favourites. I have watched prison break on my DVD for years now. Yes, I can still buy DVD since is still relevant

I like physical media. You never know when a movie or show might be removed from a streaming platform. If you own the DVD it's yours to keep.

Deleted scenes, Director's cut and alternate endings are still not available in streaming.

I don't have any physical collection but I would buy some to have at my disposal. Streaming does not always have what you want when you want it. So owning these puts us at an advantage. Right now, I can think of some shows I would want to see again and again
