It has a successful live action adaptation. Netflix decided to make a live action American version....if you hate subtitles just watch the dub version of the anime and live action Japanese.

They genderswap a female character and race swap many characters into white and black because the setting is change into USA. Their excuse for saying they are not racist is the lead character remain Japanese. There are so many Asian actors in USA and Canada, why race swap?

Stop forcing race swap. If the character is white, keep them white, if the character is Black keep them black and if the character is Asian, keep them asian.

This need to make US remakes of everything is weird. They even do it with shows that already in English. I don't get why Americans don't just watch the existing versions. Is it really that hard to watch with subtitles, or even just deal with it being set in a different place or maybe characters having different accents?

Rightists are bound to want to perpetuate such portrayals of class differences.
