Cutting Corners For Christmas

Postby Spontaneo » 29 Nov 2024, 02:01

Christmas is coming up and if you are like myself, maybe cutting corners.

Wrap presents in grocery store brown bags! Whenever you are grocery shopping, ask for paper instead of plastic!

Wrap presents with the comic section!

For cookies? Save empty coffee cans and place cookies inside! How about faithful paper plates for cookies with plastic wrap or aluminum foil to give as presents!

For all of the above, why not simply buy from the dollar store a big bag of bows to attach to the present to decorate? You can buy here in the United States at Dollar Tree, a bag of bows for $1.25 (US currency)!

Ho Ho Ho ;) ;)

I honestly don't have any plans for the Christmas this time around. But we still have a few weeks before then, so let's see how it goes.

Yes we can do whatever helps. Meanwhile, we got some surprise products at a good "Black Friday" discount.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are catching on big time in India.

I totally understand. However, I love to see the looks on loved ones faces when they open up their gifts.

I am cutting corners with food this Christmas. I am spending Christmas with friends. The friends always have big elaborate meals. However, I do not like their food and cannot chew their food. I always take a dish. They never want what I bring. So, guess what?

This year, i am taking food for myself. I am thinking egg salad and oatmeal. Not a typical Christmas meal, but I am not going to be able to chew!

For the hostess', I guess to supply the drinks and their gifts. Seem good?

No food wasted.

Tomorrow is going to be my landlord's annual Christmas party. I want to stay at home and get Christmas presents ready while I have our house to myself. My roommate is kind-of upset.

My next dentist appointment has been re-scheduled for mid-January. My dentist had to take off. So, I am able to have a little "real people" food for Christmas.

I am limited to a microwave which is a bummer. Like I mentioned on FC before, my friends' have a small kitchen and going to be using an oven, Crock-Pot and air fryer. No counterspace except for the microwave.

So, what do you think would be good? A bunch of microwavable meals such as Lean Cusine?

I was given some Innovasian microwave meals and some Healthy Choice microwave meals. The meals are delicious, but are not filling. I did not receive the meals for Christmas but afterwards, but thought that I would mention.

I wrote that you would save money if you cook for your guest than ordering the food from restaurants as they are mostly expensive

For holidays, I go to some friends' place. My roommate goes away and I really do not feel like being alone. I always pack my own food and drink. I do not want for my friends to have to wait on myself. I like to provide hostess gifts too, not extravagant but a token of appreciation.

Christmas can get pretty hectic, and cutting corners is totally understandable. Wrapping presents with the comic section is a fun twist.
