Do You Like Italian? Chinese? Any Other?

Postby Spontaneo » 07 Jul 2025, 01:12

Personally, my favorite is Italian. I grew up on such a dish.

Lately? My favorite Italian has become orzo. For example, orzo Alfredo, orzo salad, etc. Easy for myself to chew!

How about you?

I enjoy Italian food. I got a vegan Italian cookbook with a few recipes that I like to make. I also like Indian food, which is often vegetarian/vegan or easy to make that way with small changes. Thai is also good - I can only cook a couple of Thai dishes but I'd like to learn more. With Chinese food I really like bao (steamed buns) but I don't know how to make them. Sometimes I have them when I go out. With Japanese I like veggie dumplings and edamame.

Are the veggie dumplings like pierogies?

They were Japanese ones but yeah, pretty much the same thing. I think they might be made with rice flour instead of wheat flour but the texture is similar.

I know of people who like to buy plain potato pierogies.

My whole life I have always consumed Italian bread.

I am a sandwich girl.

However, the food pantries only deliver the "healthy" (LOL) bread and I cannot complain. I need to be grateful.

Then, with the recently scare of drinking too much sweet tea by my family physician, I thought to myself... What about all of that bread?

So, recently, I have reduced my bread consumption. Not completely now, but some.

I know that although the keto bread is good, the food pantries do not deliver such bread and I just cannot afford such bread.

Macaroni with bologense is favorite with pizza. So I choose Italian food. I should just add more fish in it. Maybe some Italian dish with fish or sea food?

I can't differentiate between the two since it's non Africa dish.

I like Indian food for its rich spices and variety, and also Chinese food for its bold flavours and comforting dishes.

I was in Italy last week and do you know bolognese is actually wrong title for sauce. It should be ragu.

I like Pizza a lot. Pasta is just fine for me. Tiramisu is good but I score some other sweet delicacies more than it.
As for Chinese, I like Manchurian in Gravy.
Noodles, Fried Rice are not my favorites but some of my friends relish them.
One more fact : In India, a specialized Chinese Food version is prevailing which one food expert named as "Sino-Ludhianvi".
Sino for China and Ludhianvi denotes Ludhiana, a city in the state of Punjab in India.

Basically, Chinese food with more spices and chillies.

Never heard of Indian Chinese food "Sino-Ludhianvi". Seems like a nice twist with all those extra spices and chillies.

There really is no nationality for the below.

Homemade Protein Smoothies
Homemade Protein Shakes
Homemade Peanut Butter Oatmeal Balls (AKA: energy balls)

I like the above as they are nutritious, filling and inexpensive.

If you would like the recipes, give myself a PM.

;) ;)

Then, I also like any Crock-Pot meal! The contraption does the cooking for you, makes your house smell good, feeds you and all you need to do is wash him (unless you have a Crock-Pot liner!)

Where you live, is boneless skinless chicken breast astronomical in cost? I like to prepare Italian and Chinese with such chicken but cannot the past few years.
