The much awaited and talked about India vs England Cricket Test Series has started today.
India is without its veteran star players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli who retired recently.
India is headed by the young and talented player Shubman Gill.
India has started off well in the match and were at 120 plus for the loss of 2 wickets.

Shubman Gill, as a captain and in his first test match as the captain joined the list of Indian captains who scored a century in their 1st match as a captain.
This list has Dilip Vengsarkar, Sunil Gavaskar, M.A.K Pataudi and Virat Kohli!
Virat scored 100s in each innings !

The next match starts on 2nd July in Edgbaston in Birmingahm.
Not a good ground, record wise for India and overall a lot for the Indian team to do, which is undergoing a transition.

India won the second test match in Birmingham. A great win.
India becomes the first asian country to win at this venue!

Star performances foremost by Shubman Gill followed by Rishabh Pant, Yashwaswi jaiswal, K.L.Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and Akashdeep and Mohammad Siraj.

A number of records achieved, most by Shubman Gill (200 and 150 in the same match and as a captain !) .

Yet now the Indian team is pulling in a lot of weight and doing very well.
