A kind of Bee whose Honey people wont eat

Postby Netherrealmer » 13 May 2025, 04:29

This is a vulture bee,

This bee is something no one will dare to farm. This species of Bee loves to eat meat. Especially rotting meat!

They dont turn meat into honey but because of their diet, I dont think anyone will dare to eat their honey. No one will farm this bee. They are related to stingless bees, So their hives are not pretty octagon ones, they have Honey pots.

They dont turn meat into Honey, they also get nectars from plants but because they have a meat diet, Their honey stinks.

I hadn't heard of vulture bees, I for one wouldn't be keen on eating honey from bees that feed on rotten flesh. I hope it is not being farmed illegally and making it's way into our food.

I've heard of these. It sounds gross, but I read that some people have at least tasted the honey even though it's not recommended to eat it. I suppose some people will taste anything.

It reminds me- butterflies also don't just feed on flowers, they will sometimes drink from corpses.

Oh gosh, that sounds gross  Yeah, count me out LOL If they love eating rotting flesh, they must gobble it all up complete with the maggots, which for me is beyond vile.

Oh wow, wasn't aware we had such bees out there. Can they be found anywhere or in just specific regions?

That’s honestly gross. Even if the honey technically comes from nectar, just knowing what else they eat is enough to put you off completely. No way I’d ever want to taste that stuff.
