While growing up, we didn't have air conditioning. We left our windows up and relied on fans.

After I moved out on my own, I finally became accustomed to air conditioning.

Today, maintenance installed our annual Spring/Summer window air conditioners! Finally!

How about you? Do you have air conditioning? Do you like fans better?

We never had air conditioning when I was a child. They didn't have it in public schools here either until long after I'd finished school. I'm glad they have it now because the temperature can be in the 40s some days in the summer and the children can't be expected to concentrate when it's like that.

We have an air conditioner at home, but just the one, in the living room. We don't use it often because we have to close off all the doors and windows to use it which is annoying. Our house (like a lot of houses here) is designed to allow air to flow through, so except for in the very hottest weeks of summer I prefer to have everything open and spend time on the balcony when there is a breeze.

I have never had ceiling fans because our ceilings here (and the ones in the house where I grew up) are too low for that to be safe. We have a couple of pedastal fans.

Our landlord paid for the air conditioners. So, we are lucky in that aspect.
