From what I understand, everything has an aura. It has been described as the energy that surrounds the object in a light field that expands depending on the source within. Living creatures have a larger aura field than inanimate objects.

Some people claim to be able to see them. I have had two people approach me, many years and thousands of miles apart. It is highly unlikely they could have known each other. Funny thing is, they both described my aura and their descriptions were nearly identical right down to the colors and size of each layer that surrounded me.

So how can anyone see your aura? Can you be trained to see it? Are there such things as scanners designed to detect it or even photograph it?

I don't believe they are a real thing (at least not the kind of aura you are describing, as opposed to the aura as a term for an early indication that a person is about to have a seizure or a migraine). There isn't any good evidence that they exist, nor any good scientific explanation why they would.

That doesn't mean that people who claim to see them are con artists or liars though, at least not necessarily. I wonder whether some of them have synesthesia, a condition which can cause people to experience things with their senses differently (things like seeing sounds, experiencing numbers or shapes as colours etc.).

There are certainly people who claim to be able to detect and photograph it. You can buy equipment for that online. These sellers I would put firmly in the con artist category though.
