Are you planning to change your religion?

Postby MattTolentino02 » 09 May 2022, 11:35

I was born a Catholic and am currently non-practicing. There are so many Catholic beliefs and practices that are not based on the holy Scriptures. Someday, I'm planning to change my religion. How about you?

Religion is a dangerous concept. Nearly all “religions” tend to mislead the masses with false doctrine. They lead to arguments that often lead to wars. They create divisions that are so deep that brothers may kill their own brothers over really trivial matters that are usually untrue.

They even lead some to call themselves athiests who in their own beliefs say there is no God because they witness atrocities created by people mislead by false religions; even some who call themselves Christians. Of course, there really can be no true athiests. They would have to be omniscient themselves to be able to make such a declaration. They may be agnostic; questioning the existence of God, but they cannot truly know there is no God.

There are no true “religions”. The Holy Scriptures are rife with warnings of false prophets for good reason. It does not matter what religion you are talking about. In effect, all can be described as man's attempt to reach up or out to a Supreme being, no matter what you conceive that to be. At some point in time, some human gave it some thought and wrote concepts that a particular group accepted in whatever developed religion they chose to follow. The founders are often treated by their followers as Gods themselves.

It does not matter if you call yourself a Catholic or Protestant. It does not matter if you select and follow any specific subgroup that generally speaks of Christian concepts. None who identify with such groups will ever make it to heaven. It does not even matter if you follow any other religion from around the globe if you cling to beliefs that come from a human reaching up or out to a supreme being. Man's attempts are always futile and will fail.

On the other side of that, there is this concept called Christianity. It is the opposite of religion. It is God reaching down to man. Following true Christianity means following the Holy Scriptures and Words from God, not following books and teachings that come from humans reaching up. Those who follow God's Scriptures and not man's writings and concepts are the only people who can call themselves true Christians.

No matter what group you investigate, be sure to study scriptures to confirm or deny every detail of their teachings. If there is conflict, beware of the false prophets that Scriptures often warn about. If you are going to even bother to connect with God, you might as well do it right. Avoid the liars and charlatans who will all lead you astray. Align yourself as a Christian, not a Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Methodist, Jehovah's Witness, Mormon, Muslim, Buddhist, etc. or titled as a follower of any religious group based on Man's concepts.

I am catholic and I don't plan to change my religion. Religions have all the same base, believe in a God, in a creator that help us and guide us, so I see no point in changing.

I visited Google and based on page 1 results, 78% of Sweden's population are atheists while Estonia hovers at 72%. What interests me the most is that both countries are in Europe - same with Vatican City, the official place of residence of the Pope of the Catholic Church.

I just want to move to the least religious countries because they rarely vote for the wrong politicians. The quality of life is superior. Weird as it may sound but the more religious a country is the more they vote for fascist and dictators.

I am Roman Catholic but doing my homework on other churches. I really like Joyce Meyer Ministries.

Hi, I had thought of changing and becoming a Muslim but my mother was against the whole idea.
I happen to be Catholic as well. I don't think I will be transitioning to any other religions unfortunately.

I was born a Roman Chatolic, i am married to a Buddhist, i will not convert to other religion because God had saved me millions of times. I believe in Him. All religions teach humans good morals. Whether to follow or not depends on individuals

I am a Christian and I don't plan on changing my religion, I don't see the reason why I should do that. As long as you do what is right all religions are just good.

So, if you're planning on changing your religion, which one do you think is going to fit your personality right now?

I have considered being a Muslim at one point but I haven't made the decision yet.

As of writing, probably another Christian denomination. Those that lean towards Protestantism will be my priority, and those that lean towards Eastern Orthodoxy will receive lower personal preference.

I have no plans of changing my religion as I consider all religions equal. Religion is used as a tool by politicians and other leaders to get support from people which they use as per their benefit without thinking about the consequences of this on peoples life.

Why did you consider the change, what is it about that religion that attracts you.

I was christened as a baby and raised as a Catholic. I don't believe in that religion, or any religion, now and have no plans to change religion. My personal belief is that you don't need religion to be a good person and that organised religion, does more harm than good.
