What book are you currently reading?

Postby Fergal » 08 Sep 2014, 17:50

I've just started "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" by John Boyne. Boyne, is an Irish writer who claims to have written the first full draft of the book in two and a half days. It has been hugely successful and was made into a Hollywood movie.

So far, I find the writing to be really enjoyable and it is a pleasure to read, even though I know the story from having read the movie.

What are you reading at the moment and how are you enjoying it?

Reading Think Like a Freak by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner. If you read Freakonomics and liked that book then you'll enjoy this one too, it's different from their other books but the writing style is the same.

Hi Fergal,

I don't remember that I have completed any English book or story, except my school and college books. After that I have read some business magazines, now Iam reading Tuesday Lobsong Rampa- Secret Knowledge in Telugu version.

I read The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, it was really nice. I think this was the first ever fiction book that I read. Later I watched the movie too but I liked the book better.

I've just had a look at it on Amazon and I don't think I've ever seen a book with so many positive reviews. Is it quite a spiritual book?

Jotomy are you referring to "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas"? I've finished it now and it really is an excellent book. Some of it is a little harrowing and it brings home some of the horror of World War II, through the eyes of a child.
