I suppose I'm still "old school". Being retired does have its perks. I can and often do give it up for days at a time.
I have a home phone and I have a cell phone but I also have left an outgoing message for people to leave a message if I don't answer and I can call them back at
MY convenience. I often go out and leave the cell laying on my desk at home anyway.
Even if I hear it ring, I don't just drop what I am doing to run and answer it. I'll call back if it is important when I'm good and ready.
"Hi, my phone is broke. It doesn't ring.
So all my calls go on this thing.
If you're selling, don't bother. Won't answer survey.
If you're seeking donations, just go away.
If you want to talk you have to speak.
Just chatter away right after the squeak."
Good enough for me.
