Cheteshwar Pujara, a name synonymous with resilience and unwavering patience, has announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket, bringing a close to his illustrious career.
The 37-year-old, known as the modern-day "Wall" of Indian cricket(or should we say Wall 2.0 as Rahul Dravid was also proclaimed as Wall!), officially made the announcement on social media.
Pujara's last international outing was the 2023 World Test Championship Final against Australia.
His career stands as a testament to the classic art of Test batting, defined not by flashy stroke play but by sheer mental fortitude and the ability to wear down the opposition. With 7,195 runs in 103 Tests, including 19 centuries, his contributions were instrumental in historic series wins, particularly on foreign soil.
He has retired, but his grit and dedication would leave behind a big legacy that would continue to inspire us!
