Short Term truce or longer lasting peace

Postby ptrikha21 » 23 Oct 2025, 15:43

So after conflict mode and unease of close to 5 years, Indian and Chinese Troops had an exchange of Festive time i.e Deepavali recently as it appeared in news.

Now whether this is a short term truce or indicates longer term peace is difficult to say.

I think this is only temporary because it has economic benefit, but China is still hostile to many of its neighbors.

After nearly five years of tension, it is heartening to see Indian and Chinese soldiers sharing a Diwali celebration 🎉. This shows that even in a challenging political environment, there is still room for humanity to come together in joy and respect.

While we cannot say for sure whether this is a temporary peace or the beginning of a long-term calm, it is still a positive step. Peace starts with small gestures like these. If we hope and continue the dialogue, there is a chance to build a better relationship 🌟.

It is important for these nations to continue to show goodwill. Their citizens need peace and cooperation. Seeing images like this gives us hope that the world can be a better place. Peace is a precious gift 💖.

Longer term Chinese policies can be hard to judge.
However, as of now, China seems to be inclined more towards peace with India.
May be because Pakistan has tilted more towards US?

Let us hope that peace and calm prevails. Much better than a confrontational posture.

We can only pray that peace will continue to prevail over confrontation. The world has the potential to be a better place if people choose to understand each other instead of fighting. This is a sign that even big differences can be overcome with small acts of kindness. Let us continue to believe in the power of peace.

Indeed, it's a complex situation. Time will reveal the true intentions behind these gestures.

Sad that at least one of the protagonists has repeatedly proven difficult to decipher.
My hope is that citizens will not suffer a lot of harm.

They had been in conflict mode for a long time but now they have shown that even enemies can celebrate together. This is a sign of hope.

We pray that this spirit of cooperation continues. The world needs peace not war. If soldiers can smile together then even we civilians can live in love.
