I watched Eurovision yesterday — yeah, I know, mistake number one — and while I didn’t expect Israel to win (because, you know, most of the world currently ranks them just below the United States on the global "Most Hated" list), what did happen still managed to piss me off.
Let’s be real: the U.S. is hated for its never-ending tariffs and its habit of electing presidents who think "racism" is just a leadership style. Meanwhile, Israel is out here dropping bombs on civilians and babies in Gaza, and somehow we’re supposed to act like they’re just another country in a glitzy singing contest? Cute.
European countries were practically tripping over each other to get Russia banned from Eurovision the moment they invaded Ukraine — and rightly so. But Israel? Oh no, they’re still allowed to perform, as if the footage from Gaza doesn’t exist. As if singing about “peace” while actively bombing schools isn’t the definition of irony so thick you could spread it on toast.
Now, let’s be fair: Israel does have a strong Eurovision history. Great songs, multiple wins — they’ve earned their legacy. But context matters. Right now, people are literally begging to have them banned because their government is committing atrocities on live TV. And yet… there they are. Performing. Smiling. Singing about unity. It’s like watching a house arsonist enter a fire safety contest and place in the top five.
And the kicker? Israel almost won. If it weren’t for the judges doing damage control and giving them just low enough scores, Austria wouldn’t have squeaked by and taken the win. The televote had Israel skyrocketing toward victory — despite everything. You can’t vote for your own country in Eurovision, so who exactly is propping this up? The global Jewish diaspora? Hardcore right-wingers treating it like an ideological football match? Either way, it reeks.
For the record, I’m an ex-Muslim. I don’t believe in Islam. I don’t support Hamas. I don’t romanticize terrorism. But I also don’t support genocide. And it’s becoming clearer by the day that whatever Israel started as — defending themselves — has spiraled into something darker. They're not just targeting Hamas anymore. They're bombing civilians, flattening homes, killing kids.
You don’t have to like Hamas (I don’t), but if Israel is outdoing them in cruelty, maybe stop giving them standing ovations and international stages to perform on. You don’t get to sing about peace while you're actively making sure other people don’t live to see it.

Repelling Terror and violence is good but Israel has been retaliating out of proportion. India and Israel have good relations but India responds in an appropriate manner (Op. Sindoor...) It can be a cultural difference.
The basic ideology of our land has been of Pacifism (Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism etc.) so we are not actually "keen" on fighting.
Yet if provoked, we can hit back fiercely as our "peaceful" neighbor has learnt.
Israel would have to balance somewhere although I think somewhere, countries like Qatar, UAE, Jordan etc need to show Hamas the logic of peace and harmony.

I used to defend Israel because, you know, a few years ago, they were just defending themselves from people who don't want them to exist. But now, they crossed the line. They are killing civilians, especially children and babies. The nerve they have to join a singing contest and sing about peace.

Some TV stations request check votes. Looks some were distributed to Israel instead of other countrys. But what happend, its happend. Will Israel be able host Eurosong next year?

Judges vote saves us from Israel victory. I cant believe they got that many fan votes. if Israel wins they will host the next contest. Who wants to go to Israel during a time it can be bombed any time soon.

Eurovision is the reason why Celine Dion, Abba, Lulu, Mary Hopkins, Vicky Leandros, Olivia Newton John and Enrique Iglesias becomes stars.

Yes there ought to be limits otherwise support for good actions diminishes.

Hamas did a lot of wrong things, killed a lot of civilians. But right now Israel is doing what Hamas did, but worse. Since, you know, they're also killing babies. They're attacking schools and hospitals.

I won't please anyone here. When you first look for trouble, you can't control the measure that the person you attacked would respond. Hamas looked for trouble, and Israel don't have sentiments. The average civilian in Gaza is a Hamas sympathizer and I don't pity them.

You are right. Since I remember there is always some tension, terrorist attack, bombs or threats. I don't remember where you could say there is 100% peace and everything is rebuild.

Hamas needed to be taught a lesson. So, do any terrorist organization. But the lives of innocent people should be respected on both sides. Hamas were barbarian to not respect that and kill them. Now, Israel is doing that in the name of protecting it's people from terrorism.

War with Iran will have bigger affect than Ukraine Russia war. Iran will block Hormuz and oil price will go in air. Already there are warning fuel price will go up. When fuel goes up, everything goes up because of delivery and transport price.
