Something I notice with cancer survivors

Postby Netherrealmer » 02 Jun 2025, 08:33

I noticed this to cancer survivors most of the time. Usually when you have chemotherapy, all your hair will drop on the floor. And... I noticed a lot of cancer survivors who have chemotherapy have hair color change when the hair grows back. Like, I have a relative who is blonde. Yes, blonde people exist in Iraq. Technically, even though we are called Asians or Arabic or Middle Easterns, we are still Caucasian.

She was born blonde and when her hairs grow back after her chemotherapy, it becomes brown. A lot of people who had chemotherapy lost their hair and their hair grows back, it becomes brown. And I thought this phenomenon is only for Caucasian people, but this hair color change phenomenon also happened to Blacks and Asians. For example, your hair used to be jet black and it will become reddish brown or hazel brown. Most Asians have jet black hair, but suddenly their hair becomes brown when it grows back after cancer. And this hair color change phenomenon is not limited to humans.

I saw a video about a dog who got scabies. He lost all of his hair and someone adopts him and give his give him treatment from veterinarian and you know when the dog was found he's a white dog but when his hair grows back it becomes reddish. So yeah this phenomenon of you know hair color changes after hair loss is not related to humans. Make less wordy and add some dry humor

Yeah, it can grow back a different colour, although it doesn't always. The same thing can happen if you shave your head. My daughter had long blonde hair and shaved her head and it grew back a reddish brown.

I'm guessing you meant to cut that part out.

Do people call folks from the middle east Asian? That makes zero sense that region is not in Asia.

well some parts of Middle east are in Asia and some are in Africa. Middle easterns and South Asians are called Asians in UK while they call East Asians and South is Asians oriental.

Yeah okay. 'Oriental' is regarded as a slur now.

This reminds me, I found it interesting when I went to the UK that when people there say "Asian" they usually mean from the subcontinent (India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh), whereas in Australia if we say Asian we mean from South-East Asia.
