Bad Luck

Postby Spontaneo » 11 Oct 2023, 22:46

Do you ever have bad luck non-stop?

Myself?

My roommate still has not clipped the fabric.
A part of weekly pay that I get has been reduced. I used the part of pay as gas money to my roommate. If I need to go somewhere with her, I have to do all of her chores for her now.
Yesterday, I received a small bottle of essential oil in the mail. Poured the essential oil into the diffuser and the diffuser was broke.
Then, I spilled water on my desk!
This morning, a nice friend drove me to buy another diffuser. Came home, unpacked the box and went over the instructions. The diagram showed an off button, but there is no off button on the diffuser. So, I emailed the company. Waiting to get a reply.
Spilled water again. :(

Gosh could I go for a wine cooler.

I don't even believe in the concept of bad lucks. I believe everything that happens is a consequence of something one did or failed to do.

Sometimes we all have the feeling that everything goes wrong but it is only a phase that soon will pass.

I'm sorry you had a bad run of luck. If the electric diffuser doesn't work out, you could always try and old fashioned one with a tea light underneath. Just be careful not to leave it burning unattended.

Sorry you have had a run of bad luck Spontaneo, it happens to all of us at times. At least part of it has to do with mindset, we can decide to be lucky.

Think about how you are lucky to be still getting some income when some people who's job is their only source of income have lost their jobs. Also you are lucky to be able to exchange chores for a lift somewhere. You are also lucky to have a roof over your head and are not homeless.

Isn't it lucky we live in an age and in a location where we can go out and buy new items to replace faulty items. Billions of people in the world do not have that good fortune. It is also lucky that we can email companies when we have an issue with their product. Improvements in consumer law mean that we are no longer in a position where we have to accept whatever is given to us.

Sorry if the above sounds flippant, I don't mean it to be, this is an area where I need to practice what I preach and make improvements upon myself.

I do believe in bad luck. There are occasions when something awful happens and continues to happen for several days or months.

I have not been on FC for a few days. Yes. Bad luck.

A laptop broke yet again, So, I have graciously been allowed to use my landlord's laptop again.

Then, I was in my basement washing laundry. My cellular phone was in my breast pocket. I forgot. So, I bent over to pick up some clothes. The phone fell out and shattered. My basement floor is concrete.

A good thing about the phone? Last year, I had saved up some money and bought a new cellular phone and a new phone service card for days like this. I kept these right where I would remember them. Yep. It was days like this!

Last night, I had a big salad ready to devour. I got out a new bottle of red pepper flakes. I had the wrong part of the bottle open and almost the whole entire bottle poured on the lettuce. My salad was ruined. I had to throw away.

In the past, I have mentioned that I have writing robes and specific writing pens for good luck.

I just realized that I have had bad luck probably because I have not been wearing the writing robes and not using the writing pens!

I had had a bad dream that something bad would happen if I stayed writing with weekendnotes/toopa thus I have been absent from writing for the websites. I am not earning money because of a bad dream! My roommate reassured myself that nothing bad would happen.

What would you do? Am I being silly?

Thank you.

I have been looking for a new job, specifically on Indeed.com. I find a zillion good prospects, research the jobs, then find out that I am not qualified!
