Lying online ads

Postby OldGuy » 10 Feb 2025, 01:47

There are hundreds or perhaps thousands of varying online ads that pop up while you are involved in some other sites, such as the ads during youtube videos. They each have their "come on" lead in lines to entice you to visit their ad. Most are outright lies.

One in particular that drives me nuts has a lead in that says "there are five words you mispronounce 5 years before you are hit with dementia". it takes you to an incredibly long video to hawk their brain pills for a "special discounted price of only $69 for a month's supply" and they want you to buy several month's worth in your initial order.

I watched their stupid video to the end, just looking for what those 5 words were. THEY NEVER DID SAY THEM. It was only a lead to watch their video.

If you see that ad, note that it is from https://www.vitality-now.com and ignore their crap content.

Have you noted any other ads that are clearly lying? List them here to help cut the crap.

Several so-called news reporting sites have new similar reports lasting about an hour each with discounts for buying 1-3-6 bottles of various supplements of strange plants that cure all kinds of common maladies claiming the same labeled products from Amazon, Ebay or other websites are fakes and will not work, buy cost much more are themselves fakes, I fail to understand how Amazon or Ebay can get away with this,

I won't say those ads are outrightly lying. Some of them are just exaggerating their products and services. And they feel it is normal.
