Yeah but if you wait to generate an audience, you will probably never start Tumblring and Tweeting. This is what I do. I link my Tumblr and Twitter accounts to save me time with post sharing. When I see my followers start growing, I review my Tumbl post archives. I put some of my Tumblr content back into the post stream by changing the date. Tumblr allows that. Since Twitter now lets you retweet your on content, I review some of my tweets and retweet them. When I share the content the first time my new followers might not have seen it. They are probably not going to go through my post history. So I repost or retweet the social shares that I think might get their attention. Just start! Tumblr and Twitter are free and popular platforms. You got more to gain than you have to lose.
Have you read my other
Tumblr articles?
When you have a website or a blog, the most important thing to consider is building an audience. Everything you do, whether it is SEO, social media sharing, or advertising, you are primarily geared towards building an audience. I am looking for the methods to build an audience and I will consider the options you have shared here. In the meantime I am heading off to read your tumblr posts.
