Would you call yourself wealthy?

Postby lludawg » 30 Aug 2014, 04:39

Currently I would not call myself wealthy. I am going to school and it costs quite a bit! I always try my best to save as much as I can. Hopefully in the future I will be wealthy! However, I am sure many people who are in poverty would view me as wealthy. Do you view yourself as wealthy?

I would consider myself in pretty much the same situation as you lludawg. In the past I was on a high salary, working in the property sector and we had a property boom here in Ireland. There was a property crash here in Ireland and I have moved into the IT sector, as this is a new industry for me I am on a low starting salary, which is much less than what I was used to in the past. Sometimes I feel a little bad about it and then I remind myself that there are so many people in the world who are experiencing real poverty and would love to have what I have.

I wouldn't call myself wealthy. I don't have a great deal of money but I have enough to live and enjoy myself. I am in a better financial situation now compared to a few years ago. I am grateful for the situation I am in as money isn't too much of a worry for me.

Hi Friends,

If I have shelter to sleep, food at regular intervals and some money for future use and some income reguarly, means monthly. I am thinking that I am one of the wealthy persons in the world.

I agree with ksrid's philosphy. I am by no means wealthy at all, but I can still afford to have a place to sleep, clothes, and food, and some luxuries for example a computer. I know there are a lot of people out there who are much worse off than me.

Hi gktime,

You are quite right my friend, there are millions of people does not have minimum needs to live, so many families make pavements are their homes, does not have cloths for wearing and does not have money to buy food. So we are far far better than them and hatsoff to the mighty who have provided all these to us.

Being pretty Wealthy is a good and bad thing. The good thing is that you can make a living out of it, while the bad thing is people might think of you as another way.

Re: Would you call yourself wealthy?

I am not what most consider "wealthy" (i.e. Bill Gates Wealthy) where I can spend a million dollars on a reddit secret santa (I wish!), but I am wealthy in the meaning that I have a nice family, room to live under, food to eat, and running water and some luxuries such as nice clothes, internet and cable. So mostly what ksridharprasad had said.

What makes me said though is, the people who do have all the stuff I mentioned, and still complain about their life, there are millions of people that don't even have enough money for a new pair of clothes because they have to spend it on food for them and their children in this world. I mean there are people in Hati who are living butt naked on the streets, and just barely making enough money for food, along with providing for their kids.

There are also people like BIll Gates though, who feel bad that they are rich, just because there are many people who are a lot worse off then they are. Hence the Gates Foundation. Then, there are also the wealthy that only care about themselves, and have to have the best everything, knowing that there are butt naked adults and children across the world with NOTHING, but a bowl of rice to eat each day.

I am wealthy when it comes to love, care from people who surrounds me ofcourse. But when it comes to financial matters, I am afraid I'm not that wealthy also.
