Postby Fergal » 05 Aug 2014, 17:51

Do you have any suggestions as to what we could do to increase the revenue generated by this site, Forum Coin?

Thanks in advance!

Well in my opinion...and this is not coming from a techsavvy guy btw...I think you are in the right direction..building up the memberbase and adding adverts is a good way to go. Look for advertisements that are cost per impression...it will not be much but atleast it will help....also I have asked this question in the other topic that I created...but where can we trade forumcoins against BTC..if that can be done you know it would actually be really good..will drive a lot of users to this forum.

You could do that by posting an ad in our Classifieds & Exchanges section. You can read about how to exchange Forum Coin for US Dollars and other items here.

Have you tried offering forum services? For example, hiring a team of people to post, charging for packages, and having a percentage for a site revenue? I actually just thought of that, and have never heard of it being done before, so it may not be the best idea.

Also, what about using amazon modules? People can see products they like, and click on amazon, and you could make money that way!

Try converting all outgoing links to adf.ly links, so you earn money everytime someone clicks on a link on Forum Coin that is leading to an external site. You can take a look on adf.ly to find information on this and often many forum software have a plugin for this.

You could also try adding an additional advertisment on the footer, it's not too much of an eyesore but earns you a bit of money.

Thanks for the suggestions Steven, I have been considering placing an ad in the footer. Do you think the adf.ly ads would make using the forum less user-friendly and enjoyable?

I do find links like adfl.ly to be quite annoying although we could have an opt-out though where users could buy an adfree upgrade for a small amount and get x months of no ads on this site. It would probably generate more money during that period than we would earn from ads from that user.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm not generally a fan of those types of ad links myself and I do find them quite off-putting. We want to make ForumCoin as enjoyable and as user-friendly for our members as possible. Hence, we will stay away from those types of ads at this time.

Hi Friends,

Lot of suggestions by several members of this site, some are good and some may not yield revenue to this forum. Lot of experts are in this forum nothing to worry about it, though I am not expert but support you in all aspects. All the best to the admin.

I don't know much about adfly links, but from what I'm hearing it will slow down things and may make users not as willing to stay on the site. I think ads in general that make you money (ie adsense) one should try to avoid....unfortunately, those are some of the only ways to make $ though....

Hi gktime,

I does not know about adfly, to some extent that is shortening of the urls, the ad will take time to open the site lately. So I never go for adfly till now.

How good is ForumCoin ranking on search engines? Tons of people everyday search "make money online posting on forums". If we can get ForumCoin on the first page of Google when people search these phrases, you will for sure gain tons of traffic and new members.

It can start with the basics...

- A New Theme
- A More Consistent Effort Among Staff to Run the Forum
- Explaining the name "forum coin", and giving this forum a goal/mission.

Another major issue is borderline spam posts. These are posts that are long enough not to be considered spam, but they really don't make any sense either. There are way too many rhetorical questions asked in threads too. If you can't contribute, why post?

Thanks for the helpful suggestions Rick. I actually like the theme we have, it is fast and user friendly in my opinion. What is it about it, that you would like to see improved?

Rick Ace wrote:...A More Consistent Effort Among Staff to Run the Forum..

That has greatly improved in the last month or so, we are very dedicated to the community are committing lots of time to it.

Please do feel free to help out, by reporting any suspect posts you see on the forum.

Thanks again for your feedback, it has given me a lot to think about.
