ForumCoin provides a location for members to easily start selling a product or service in exchange for ForumCoin. This is an excellent way to small items for a small value and it is a really easy way to start a new small business. That's how we help society, by empowering others.

If you're talking about environmental stuff... Well, I don't know much about that, but I think that if the company helps the economical flow of the city/country, it's already great ;)

a lot of businesses are socially responsible but you have to make them be when they are only driven by profit. A few years ago...decades,soda companies were doing business in apartheid South Africa and a lot of people didn't like that so they boycotted them. the soda company did cave a little and stopped doing business in South Africa until apartheid had ended.

We have a problem because not always Social responsibility and Profit are compatible. Companies are more interested in making money rather than improving our society. In our world money is the king not the ethics, look at Nestle CEO when he said "Water Is Not A Human Right, Should Be Privatized". I believe that some few companies really concern with society but those are a drop of water in the ocean and sooner of later they end up focus only in profits.

I think you are absolutely right. There are eagle eyes of private entrepreneurs everywhere. They wanted to squeeze the last drop in the name of social responsibility. Some of them consider this as a way to advertise themselves. So, it is not a pure charity.

After thinking about this for a couple of days I've decided that I will give 10% of my net internet income to charities that work to improve the lives of animals.

I understand there are an organized groups to help the people especially those who are homeless, unemployed and even people with disability (PWD). These groups are making survey of those people mentioned above. They conduct a sort of seminar and workshop. Once they are organized, they look for a support agency to finance that people until they have started a business of their own.

My wish is to start an orphanage so that orphaned and destitute women and children and abandoned senior citizens will be looked after well . Because they are also the children of God and they also should need love and affection. Care and concern. and should get good clothes, nutritious food and hygienic shelters and medical attention like all of us and live a descent and dignified life

Social responsibility is not only about making money, how your business will affect the community will it bring more visitors to the area. will my product promote good health to consumers, will I be able to hire members of the community. small things done for the community on a continuous basis add up and will reap positive rewards. :)

I think there are many different aspects to social responsibility from environmental issues to local issues and many more in between. I expect companies to profit, but the ways and means they employ to do so, can often be questionable. In other words, I'd rather spend money with companies that make me proud to be a customer, not ashamed.
